ITIL training types?

[ad_1]

ITIL training courses offer certification in ITIL V2 or V3, with multiple levels of certification available. V2 and V3 have different certification levels, with V3 allowing for higher levels of professional skill. V3 also offers the opportunity for Expert and Master Certification.

Professional training organizations around the world offer courses on ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library). ITIL training courses are tailored to help students become certified in ITIL Version 2 (V2) or ITIL Version 3 (V3). Each version offers students multiple levels of certification. ITIL is a registered trademark of the Office of Government Commerce (OGC) in the UK and other countries.

ITIL V2 was revised in 2007 to create V3. Most ITIL training programs focus on V3, but many organizations continue to use the second version, so V2 training courses are still widely available. Most training programs offer intermediate courses to teach V2 users the capabilities of V3 for organizations that want to change versions. Both versions begin with a basic certification, which provides students with training in the basic structures, terminology, and processes of information technology (IT).

In addition to foundation certification, V2 ITIL training offers both Professional and Manager certification. Professional certification is primarily for IT service managers who want to specialize in a specific area of IT. Students can participate in change management, service level management, configuration management, issue management and service desk modules. Manager certification, especially useful for IT managers responsible for implementing ITIL, covers all aspects of service delivery and service support.

The main difference between V2 and V3 ITIL training is that V3 allows for higher levels of professional skill. V3 involves four levels of certification, including Foundation Foundation Certification. V3 also offers Intermediate Certification with courses that reflect the higher level V2, Specialist Certification, and Master Certification certifications.

Intermediate Certification modules cover the details of IT service management through two learning tracks: Lifecycle and Capability. The Lifecycle Certification is similar to the training received in the V2 Manager Certification, except that it focuses on the ITIL V3 I3 lifecycle categories of Strategy, Design, Transition, Operation and Continual Service Improvement. The Capability Certification is similar to the V2 Professional Certification in that it focuses on IT service specializations. Includes modules on Operational Support and Analysis; Service Offers and Contracts; Release, Control and Validation; and Planning, Protection, and Optimization.

V3 offers students two opportunities to gain higher qualifications than V2, Expert and Master. The V3 Specialist Certification is for students who, in addition to completing the core certification and one of the two intermediate tracks, undertake an additional training module called “Managing the Lifecycle”. The fourth and final level of V3 certification is called Master Certification and requires not course training, but on-the-job experience and a peer review.
