This means that in many cases the connection is made with an answering machine only, something the telemarketer will not accomplish until the dialer transfers the connected call and the telemarketer attempts to engage the callee in an active conversation.
The use of these types of dialing software and hardware combinations is common to many different types of telemarketing campaigns. Businesses can use a telemarketing dialer to deliver canned audio messages about upcoming sales or new service offerings to existing customers. Charities and other non-profit organizations can use a telemarketing dialer to maximize the efficiency of placing large numbers of calls in an attempt to solicit donations.
