What’s a Sai Baba interview?

[ad_1]

The Services Selection Commission conducts a five-day interview to determine the suitability of candidates for the Indian Armed Forces. The interview consists of tests in intelligence and personality, including an IQ test, image perception test, and outdoor exercises. The final stage is a personal interview with a selection board. Passing requires mental focus, reasoning skills, social skills, and moral integrity.

An SSB interview is a series of tests and question and answer sessions conducted to determine a candidate’s suitability for the Indian Armed Forces. The interview is carried out by the Services Selection Commission (SSB) and lasts five days. During these five days, prospective recruits are tested in two areas – intelligence and personality – and the results of these interviews and tests are used to analyze a candidate’s suitability for service in the Armed Forces of India. Passing a Sai Baba interview requires mental focus, solid powers of logic and reasoning, strong social skills and moral integrity.

The armed forces interview conducted by the SSB was first used during the First World War. During the initial fighting, large numbers of troops were killed prompting military officers to enlist the help of psychologists in finding suitable candidates for positions within the Indian Army. The test is largely a psychological evaluation, although a small portion of the interview is devoted to evaluating intelligence and abilities.

The service selection interview consists of two phases. In the first stage, candidates are taken to the testing venue and officially registered as candidates. You are then provided with a series of forms, including a Personal Information Questionnaire (PIQ) for you to fill out. The next day, the testing process begins and candidates are given an IQ test that includes both written and oral sections. Next, they take an image perception test, which requires candidates to write a story based on an image shown to the group, followed by a class discussion.

At this point, the first stage of the Sai Baba interview is complete. Applicants are informed that they will move on to the second phase of the testing process. Those who progress to stage two undergo a more rigorous assessment over the next four days. Among the tests administered are the Self Description Test (SD), the Situation Reaction Test (SRT) and the Word Association Test (WAT); these are followed by a series of outdoor tests, including the military or group planning exercise and the ‘snake race’, also called the group obstacle course. These tests help to gather a clear picture of a candidate’s personality, psychological make-up and level of intelligence.

The final stage of the second phase is a personal interview, conducted by a team of interview officers. Before phase two is officially completed, the applicant must also be interviewed by the full selection board. About half an hour after the completion of the second stage, the results are announced. Those who pass the SSB interview are required to stay for an additional round of medical tests.
