As with harassment based on gender and sexual orientation, this type of harassment can include a refusal to hire or promote, or even fire, someone based on race.
Another type of professional harassment is that which is based on the individual’s chosen religion. The way harassment is carried out is often similar to that of other types of harassment. With this type, it can also include forcing an employee to attend religious services of another faith or attempting to convert the employee to a different faith. As with other types, the victim feels compelled to submit to the behavior in order to remain employed.
