Create a silicone mold by making a box with two pieces of wood and strips of wood glued together. Pour silicone mixed with water over the object to be modeled, remove the box when it hardens, and fill it with silicone again. Use rubber bands to hold the mold in place and cast the object.

Among the best silicone molding tips is using a mold box made of two different pieces of wood placed on top of each other. Additional strips of wood make up the outline of the box with glue to hold it together. Place the object to be modeled in this box and cover it with silicone mixed with water. Remove the box when the silicone has hardened, remove the base and lift the box over the object. Fill the box with silicone once more, remove the object from the mold and hold it in place with rubber bands.

Silicone molding is a method of reproducing small objects. Intricate objects with fine details can be created using a silicone mold. To make a mold at home, you’ll need materials like hot glue, a small piece of wood, and some vegetable cooking spray. The main material used is 100% silicone.

To make silicone molds, you need a box of molds. Cut a piece of wood to be about 1/2 inch (1 cm) wider and longer than whatever it is to be shaped. Then cut a second piece of wood that is 1 inch (2.5 cm) wider and longer than the modeling object. The smaller piece of wood should be centered and glued to the top of the larger piece. Make sure the glue doesn’t reach the edges of the wood.

Use small strips of wood 3/4 inch (1.75 cm) taller than the modeling object to create the outline of the box. Glue four strips of wood together to form the outline. Attach them to the base with more glue. The object to be modeled must then be placed on a raised part of the base and held there with plasticine.

The next step in silicone molding is pouring the mold. Use the plant spray on the item and inside the box. Use a brush to make sure the spray is evenly distributed over the item. Pour the silicone that has been mixed with a small amount of water into the box to completely cover the item.

Once the silicone has cured, turn the box upside down and remove the base. Always make sure that the object is not lifted from the mold. Wipe off excess modeling clay and lift the box slightly above the level of the mold.
Use more plant spray on the box and fill the box with the silicone mold once more so it rises above the object. Remove the box and mold lid and take the item out of its mold. If silicone remains on the edges of the mold, clean it.
The final step in silicone molding is to use the mold. Use a plant spray inside the mold. Fill it with mold casting material. Put the lid back on the mold and leave a raised edge to allow excess material and air to escape. Put rubber bands around the mold to keep it in place, but make sure they aren’t too tight or the mold will warp.
