Clinic coordinator’s role?

A clinic coordinator manages a medical clinic, ensuring it is adequately staffed, has necessary equipment and supplies, oversees staff and processes, manages hiring and human resources, maintains inventory, oversees patient billing, and manages patient load and complaints.

A clinic coordinator is the manager of a medical clinic or doctor’s office. A coordinator’s responsibilities and duties are to ensure that the medical clinic has everything it needs to run as efficiently and effectively as possible. This includes making sure the clinic is adequately staffed, as well as making sure it has all the necessary medical equipment and supplies. The clinic coordinator also oversees the staff and processes to ensure the clinic is functioning as it should.

A clinic coordinator’s responsibility is to ensure that the clinic is adequately staffed and the right employees to meet the clinic’s needs. If the clinic needs more staff, the coordinator manages the hiring process, identifying candidates, vetting them, scheduling interviews, and hiring the staff. The coordinator also tends to act as a human resources coordinator when employees are hired and supervised.

The coordinator of a medical clinic also typically maintains an inventory of all medical equipment and supplies in the clinic. When the clinic does not have these supplies, it is the responsibility of the clinic coordinator to reorder and replenish supplies. If the medical equipment needs maintenance, repair or replacement, it is the coordinator’s responsibility to deal with those problems as well. Even if the clinic coordinator does not track inventory or the proper functioning of equipment, he is the person to whom other staff report these needs.

Another of the coordinator’s main duties is to ensure that patient billing is as up-to-date as possible. While the coordinator does not do the actual billing and coding, he or she is the person who oversees either the in-house coder and billing or the third-party company that handles this task. The coordinator ensures that the clinic is bringing in the necessary income to cover all of its expenses.

The clinic coordinator should have a basic understanding of the clinic’s patient load and what is happening in the clinic on a daily basis. Managing patient load and complaints and resolving issues that may occur during the day falls on the shoulders of the clinic coordinator. Another way to think of a clinic coordinator is a project manager, but in this case the coordinator is managing patients and a medical operation as his project.
