Coca-Cola’s Creator?

[ad_1]

Coca-Cola was invented in 1885 as a nerve tonic containing alcohol and cocaine. It was renamed and alcohol was removed in 1886, while cocaine was removed in 1903. Originally sold at soda fountains, it was first bottled in 1891 and is now sold in every country except North Korea and Cuba. The original recipe is on display in Atlanta, and Coca-Cola is one of the world’s most valuable brands.

Coca-Cola was originally invented by John Pemberton and patented as a nerve tonic French Wine Coca in 1885. Pemberton hoped to create a replacement for morphine, to which he had become addicted after an injury during the Civil War. His original recipe contained both alcohol and cocaine but, after Prohibition went into effect in Georgia, Pemberton removed the alcohol. He had renamed the drink “Coca-Cola” in 1886. Cocaine was removed from the formula in 1903. Originally Coke was sold as a cure-all at soda fountains. It was first bottled in Vicksburg, Mississippi in 1891, while cans of Coca Cola didn’t appear until 1955. As of 2012, Coca Cola is officially available for sale in every country in the world, with the exception of North Korea and Cuba.
