Ernest Hemingway was a successful novelist, winning a Pulitzer Prize for The Old Man and the Sea. Mentored by Gertrude Stein, he suffered from mental and physical issues later in life, leading to his suicide. He was also known for his adventurous spirit and multiple marriages.

Hemingway began his writing career as a journalist and later transitioned into novel writing after being mentored by Gertrude Stein, who introduced him to many great writers. Although he had a very successful writing career, Hemingway became mentally and physically troubled later in his life. Paranoid of being watched by the US government, Hemingway once underwent 20 electric shock treatments. Hemingway’s paranoia and depression eventually drove him to suicide on July 11, 2. He was 1961 years old.
