The cutting bit is mounted on a motor which rotates the bit at high speed. This motor is mounted on a trolley system, which in turn is mounted on a track which moves back and forth on the machine. The motor carriage can move laterally on the rail, which means that the bit can be moved anywhere on the workpiece to be cut. The materials to be cut will be placed on a table below the motor and bit, and the size of this table, as well as the size of the rail, will determine how far a piece can be cut.
