The MPRE registration process can be completed electronically or by mail, with three test dates offered each year. Applicants must provide basic information, select a test date and center, and pay a fee by the cut-off date. Online registration is encouraged and confirmation is sent via email.

The MPRE (Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination) registration process consists of registering with ACT, Inc., the testing service of the National Conference of Bar Examiners (NCBE). Registration documentation can be completed electronically or by mail. The test is held three times a year and offers open registration until all test centers are filled, but registration for any of the sessions must be completed by the published cut-off dates.

Application to MPRE requires a law or graduate student to complete an application, either by mail or electronically, and pay an application fee. The form asks the registrant to provide basic identifying information and confirm their status as a student or graduate of an accredited law school. The registrant must then select one of three test dates, a testing center, and indicate a jurisdiction to which they want their scores sent. The ACT also establishes cut-off dates for registration that affect the fee that must be paid. If a registrant submits their application late, the fee will be doubled.

The ACT MPRE registration website contains all the information needed to register for the exam. It can be accessed directly from the main ACT website or from the NCBE MPRE information page. The ACT publishes an MPRE information booklet each year that details test dates, registration interruptions, and testing procedures that an examinee must follow. This booklet can be downloaded from the ACT website and should be read prior to registration for important information specific to exam dates for a given year.

The ACT accepts MPRE registration electronically or by mail, but strongly encourages registrants to use the electronic registration process offered on its website. Online registrants can print their ticket for use on the day of the exam and download the score report when the test results are released. However, a registrant can obtain a complete registration package from the MPRE by writing to the NCBE at the address listed on the MPRE website and can mail the registration form.

Online registration must be completed by 11:59 pm (Central Time) on the cut-off date. Paper records must be received in Iowa City, Iowa by 5:00 pm Central Time on the cut-off date. Registration confirmation is sent to a valid email address for electronic registration. Paper registrants must send an addressed and stamped postcard with their materials to receive official confirmation.
