The Paraprofessional Assessment, also called the ParaPro Assessment, is designed to determine a practitioner’s or practitioner’s general skills in mathematics, reading, and writing. The math app questions focus on the examinee’s ability to help the instructor with math instruction in the classroom.
The writing skills questions on the Paraprofessional Assessment focus on parts of speech, parts of a sentence, and finding basic grammatical errors. Writing app questions focus on helping students with the writing process such as brainstorming, outlining, writing, proofreading, and editing.
Paraprofessional testing is provided by the Educational Testing Service (ETS). The paper-and-pencil version of the Paraprofessional Assessment is given four times a year, and there is a fee involved. Test scores are mailed approximately four weeks after taking the test. If online, unofficial test scores are available immediately after completing the test, with official scores mailed within two weeks.
