Like any other meat-excluded diet, those eating an exclusively raw food diet of vegan foods need to take extra care to get the right vitamins and proteins that are absent in many vegetables, fruits and grains. A diet consisting exclusively of raw vegan foods can be severely deficient in vitamin B12, which is not common in plant foods. A vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to health problems such as anemia.
