Deposit receipts are certificates issued by depository banks that allow investors to purchase shares in international companies. There are two types: global deposit receipts (RDA) and American deposit receipts (ADR). RDAs are traded on the London Stock Exchange and allow investment in emerging markets, while ADRs are traded in US dollars and allow US investors to participate in international markets without cross-border transactions. The first ADR was established by JP Morgan in 1927.

Deposit receipts are derived from the services issued by an international buyer or borrower using the services of a national trustee. The guarantee is issued under the auspices of a depository bank, which in turn buys shares of international companies in the name of the account holder. There are two commonly used deposit container formats: the global deposit container and the unidense deposit container.

Known as RDA, the global deposit receipt is essentially a certificate issued by the depository bank. The certificate authorizes the purchase of shares issued by international companies that do not have their headquarters in the same country as the borrower. This focus allows you to invest in a wide range of businesses, especially in emerging markets. The RDAs are generally traded in the London Stock Exchange, with a single RDA that generally represents the rank of ten shares.

Lo Recibos de Pósito o ADR estadounidenses funcionan de manera simila, ya que se estabilece una cuenta en un Banco depositorio y es posible realizare transacciones comerciales using el ADR. Without embargo, the process is kept totally in estadounidenses dollars, both in the purchase and in the sale of stock related to the recibo. This emphasis makes it possible that the inverters in the United States participate in operations that involve international companies without the need to carry out any type of transacción cross-border.

El recibo de pósito estadounidense puede representar múltiples acciones, una sola acción or even a porcentaje de una sola acción. In most cases, the purchase price of international stocks will be much closer to the actual cost price in the country of origin, while allowing a slight adjustment of the actual proportion of extra stocks with respect to the ADR. Any action that is covered by the ADR terms is known as shared deposit actions.

The structures of deposit receipts have existed for decades. In the case of the ADR, the first appearance of this form of deposit receipt took place in 1927 and was established by JP Morgan de los Estados Unidos under the name of Selfridges and Company, a minority corporation based in the United Kingdom.
