Making your own bag out of duct tape is easy. First, you need to gather your materials. Get scissors or a utility knife, a flat surface, a ruler, and some tape. Duct tape comes in a variety of colors in addition to the standard gray staple found in many hardware stores. Look for bright, happy colors.
Lay the piece of paper on a flat surface. Measure eight 16-inch (40.64 cm) strips. For each strip, find another one and glue the two together. You should end up with a sheet of flat masking tape that is 16 inches (40.64 cm) wide and four strips of masking tape high.
Next, decide what shape you want your taped bag to be. Cut your preferred shape from the sheet of masking tape, making sure to keep the shape symmetrical for both sides. Retrieve an 11-inch (27-cm) strip of masking tape. Wrap duct tape around the bottom of the bag to cover the uneven appearance of the lashes. You can use the same color of duct tape for this process or a different one to give your bag a different accent.
Measure and cut a piece of duct tape in the color of your choice for a strap. It can be as long or as short as you like. Once you’ve cut it, fold it in half so there are no sticky edges.
Finally, get two 2-inch (5.1 cm) pieces of tape. Place your strap inside the bag so the strap is against your sides. Secure the ends of the strap with the pieces of tape to ensure that the straps do not separate from the bag during use.
