False flag operations are deceptive procedures designed to appear orchestrated by another entity. They are used in war, politics, corporate world, and religious ideology. Examples include Operation Ajax in Iran and the 9/11 attacks in the US. Planned false flag operations to start a war with Cuba were also exposed.
A false flag operation is any procedure performed by one organization and deceptively designed to appear to have been orchestrated by another entity. Operation False Flag gets its name from the military practice of flying another country’s flag for the purpose of deceiving one’s enemies. False flag operations often precede war and are sometimes carried out with the express purpose of creating the illusion of an external attack deserving retaliation. While the term false flag operation is most often used in the context of war and terrorism, false flag operations also frequently occur in politics, the corporate world, and religious ideology.
In 1953, Britain and the United States allegedly used false flag tactics and propaganda to encourage a coup by then-elected Iranian leader, Mohammed Mosaddeq. This incident, known as “Operation Ajax”, resulted in a pro-Western dictator taking over from Mosaddeq as Prime Minister. In the years following the coup, Operation Ajax was widely perceived by the United States as a triumph of proactive measures; however, in 2000, then US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright denounced the false flag operation as a “joke to the (Iranian) democratic government”.
An organization known as The 9/11 Truth Movement (or individually as “Truthers”) claims that the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, which are officially blamed on al-Qaeda terrorists led by Osama bin Laden, were actually part of a false flag operation run by the US government. Some of the evidence Truthers cites in support of this theory includes the Bush administration’s apparent reluctance to mount an official investigation, the fact that steel-framed skyscrapers have never completely collapsed under any previous circumstances except controlled demolition, and NORAD’s failure to protect the Pentagon and the World Trade Center, both known terrorist targets. Some truthers say the government knew about the attacks beforehand but allowed them to be carried out to justify invading parts of the Middle East. In 2004, the author, David Ray Griffin, wrote the book, The New Pearl Harbor: Disturbing Questions About the Bush Administration and 9-11, which compares conspiracy theories surrounding 9/9 to another alleged operation false flag, Pearl Harbor.
The Freedom of Information Act also exposed false flag operations that were planned for the purpose of starting a war with Cuba during the presidency of John F. Kennedy, but never ultimately carried out by the United States. Such planned operations included the sinking of US ships, the burning of US crops, and the hijacking of an American passenger plane.
