What’s a Process Lasso?

Process Lasso is a program for Windows that optimizes computer processes by setting priority levels to favor certain programs. It includes a game mode to boost game performance and can be installed on various Windows versions. It automatically adjusts priorities and improves CPU power.

Process Lasso is a program created to optimize computer processes by setting priority levels so that the central processing unit (CPU) knows which programs to favor and which processes can receive less attention. This program allows users to get more power out of their CPU by setting the priorities properly. While some features are similar to a task manager, it shouldn’t replace this function. Made only for the Windows® operating system (OS), Process Lasso can be installed on a wide range of Windows® versions. Also included is a game mode that can boost the power of game programs in an effort to stop lags that can occur while playing games.

The Process Lasso program is designed exclusively for the Windows® operating system. As of June 2011, it is available for Windows 2000®, Windows XP®, Windows 2003®, Windows 2008®, Windows Vista® and Windows 7®. It can be installed on all versions of these OS versions, so it doesn’t matter what level of OS the user is running.

Primarily used as a computer optimizer, Process Lasso is an intuitive system that can be set up by the user, but is also automated and runs on its own. One of the basic features is that a user can set program priorities. When Process Lasso opens, it displays all the programs and processes on the computer and, with a right click, the user can set the priority of the process. For example, if the user sets one process to a high priority and another to low and both are running, the CPU will favor the high priority process. When this occurs, the CPU is able to meet the needs of the higher priority process, but it is stealing some of its energy from the lower priority process.

Along with manual prioritization, the program will change priorities as needed. If a process misbehaves or makes poor use of CPU power, the program siphons power from it, so the programs that perform better will be the target. If multiple programs are running at the same time and one or more are not currently being used, Process Lasso will know to siphon power from programs receiving less usage so that other processes run better.

A game mode is also included in Process Lasso. When a game is running on a computer, it consumes a huge amount of resources. With game mode active, your computer will be ready to push these extra resources into the game, ignoring unnecessary processes. While not guaranteed to stop lags, allocate extra memory to make gameplay as smooth as possible.
