Inlinks are important for SEO as they drive traffic to a site and search engines use them to rank pages. Natural inlinks are preferred over paid ones. Inlink is a term often used when people are looking for search engine optimization (SEO) for their websites. When their pages don’t appear on the first few pages of a Google® search, many people are unlikely to visit their site and visit the sponsors listed on the site, which generate revenue. If you pay others money to provide you with an inlink and a search engine company finds out, they may not count the inlinks in your total. So in general, you want your inlink sites to generate naturally, because of how interesting or informative your page or site is, not because you paid someone else to link to your site.

This information leads many to wonder how they can get a newly launched site noticed by others, since it certainly won’t rank high on search engines when few people give it an inlink. There are generally a couple of ways to get more inlinks:

1. Look for quality and interest in each of your pages. Anyone can write an article with high repetition of keywords and web crawlers do not determine quality. Rather, the quality and number of inlinks you get is based on how much people like your site. Your articles and site information must be unique, well-written, and engaging so that people notice them.
2. Look at your competition and comment on other people’s blogs. Once you discover a few related sites that match or complement yours, write to the blog owner to see if he or she would be willing to feature your site.
3. Offer reciprocal links once you get to know someone else who runs a related or complementary blog. If you link to each other’s site, it’s mutually beneficial.
4. If you have friends or family members who have generic websites, ask them to provide a link to your page.
