An occupational psychologist deals with the roles and culture of an organization or company, as well as the individuals the company employs, as well as the relationships that occur between employees and between employees and the company. Occupational psychologist jobs require licensure. In the United States, those who have passed the licensing exams and obtained the necessary certification are called licensed and certified occupational psychologists. They are referred to as UK Licensed Professional Psychologists.

Becoming an occupational psychologist usually requires both a master’s degree in a field related to psychology and a doctorate. Interested individuals must also pass the required licensing exams offered by the government. Depending on applicable laws, you may also be required to have a certain number of years of experience before obtaining a license. Certifications and educational promotion, which often lead to higher ranking and compensation, can be obtained from licensed and officially recognized bodies such as the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP).
