What’s Cybergoth attire?

[ad_1]

Cybergoth fashion mixes elements of gothic, punk, raver, and rivethead styles, with a futuristic and mechanical look. Clothing is often in neon colors against black or red, made of PVC, rubber, or fishnet fabrics, and accessorized with old computer parts, respirator masks, or PVC tubing. Traditional gothic and steampunk styles are also sometimes incorporated.

Cybergoth is a subculture that typically mixes elements of traditional gothic, punk, raver, and rivethead fashion. Many of the subcultures that cybergoths draw their inspiration from focus their styles on outdated fashions; however, cybergoth clothing is generally believed to be more futuristic in appearance. Clothing often appears in bright neon colors against black or deep red, and in materials such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC), rubber, or fishnet fabrics. Often these fashions are tight and androgynous, or have traits related to both women’s and men’s clothing.

Although there are many ways to dress in this style, cybergoth clothing often follows a theme. For example, short black dresses or skirts, or skinny black pants and ripped T-shirts, can be used as a backdrop for neon green, spikey tights, fluorescent belts, or bright light-emitting diode (LED) patterns. Dark clothing can also sometimes be lined or printed with glow-in-the-dark paint. These themes often include brightly colored accessories, hair, or makeup to highlight the dark appearance of the clothing.

As cybergoth clothing generally focuses on futuristic or science fiction themes, it is not surprising to find that much of the clothing has an artificial or mechanical look. For example, pants, skirts and tops are usually made of shiny black or chrome PVC or rubber. These pieces are often supplemented with old computer parts, respirator masks, or PVC pipe and tubing. While these accessories are regularly made in dark or metallic tones, they can also sometimes be created in the signature neon shades of green, pink, blue, or yellow.

Although this subculture is typically more progressive in its fashion sense, cybergoth clothing also occasionally incorporates the more old-fashioned styles of traditional goth and steampunk. Ripped fishnets and fitted vests are a popular choice for traditional gothic themes, as are accessories like mitt or opera gloves and chunky boots. These accessories are regularly done in bright colors and are sometimes lined with electrical wires or tubes.

Steampunk fashion is a subgenre of themes related to science fiction, and often includes items such as corsets, full skirts, and clockwork accessories. When mixed with cybergoth, corsets are usually done in bright shades of shiny material, skirts are often slashed or ripped, and clockwork items are regularly pieced together and either sewn directly onto clothing or worn as jewelry. Gas masks are also a prominent accessory in this style.
