MariEL Healing System Reiki is an energy healing system that draws power from Mother Mary. It is based on the belief that cells possess memory that can be released through manipulation, effecting a catharsis of bad memories and traumas. MariEL, or more fully the MariEL Healing System Reiki, is an energy healing system said to draw its powers from Mother Mary, commonly known as Mary the mother of Christ. The energy system is based on the belief that each of the body’s cells possess a memory and that these cells and the memory they contain can be released through appropriate manipulation or channelling, thus effecting a catharsis of the bad memories and traumas that tend to persist and have harmful physical and psychological effects.
MariEL is the brainchild of American Reiki Master Ethel Lombardi. In the 1980s, he gave up siding with one of Reiki’s then-two leading practitioners, Barbara Ray and Phyllis Furomoto, in order to forge his own innovative energy healing system which was named after Mary, the mother of Christ and El , a divine appellation found in the Old Testament.
A MariEL master has at his or her disposal the MariEL Reiki Energy Manipulation Toolkit and three important symbols. These symbols are called distance, power and higher self-connection. The energy in the body is manipulated or channeled by the non-tactile massage that the MariEL Reiki Master evokes by placing the hands close to the subject’s body. This channeling of the body’s energy is performed by the Reiki master who places his hands in special positions along the so-called energy lines.
A typical MariEL session lasts over an hour, during which the body is said to reveal its “narrative” to a trained Reiki master. The body is first prepared for this release of energy and then the Reiki Master will channel the energy in regular Reiki fashion, which is often performed by touching the subject but can also be non-tactile. The amount of cellular memory that is channeled is in accordance with the will of the subject. The Reiki Master is said to facilitate the release of as much energy as the subject is ready to release.
With each subsequent session of MariEl, the energy probing is deeper and more pervasive; with each cellular release, the energy buildup of a deeper, latent aspect of the subject’s energy narrative is revealed. The Reiki Master will often use several methods in sessions, with typical means of energy manipulation including vibrational sound therapy, chelation techniques, and CarnioSacral therapy. A subject who has undergone a series of productive sessions will have dug into their energetic narrative and will have arrived at a better sense of “self-worth” and energetic balance.
