For example, a person on this form of diet might drink black coffee and eat half a grapefruit and toast with peanut butter for breakfast. For lunch, you can have a small amount of tuna, a piece of toast, and more black coffee. Dinner may consist of a small amount of lean meat, two to four servings of vegetables, and an apple; A small amount of ice cream can also be allowed.

Opponents of this diet claim that it is unlikely to produce sustainable weight loss. Often people on the 3 day detox diet manage to lose mostly water weight and gain the pounds back once they start eating normally again. Also, not eating enough calories on a daily basis can have negative health consequences.
