Why no Disneyland bets for cast members?

Disneyland cast members point with a palm or two fingers to avoid rudeness. Walt Disney set high standards for his park and visitors, including no long hair or tube tops. Costumed cast members cannot speak and must stay in their character’s land.

Disneyland employees, called “cast members,” point with a palm or two fingers because pointing with one finger is considered rude. Walt Disney has worked very hard to set up his amusement parks to look wholesome and of high quality. He felt that demanding higher standards would set his park apart from other amusement parks with less-than-stellar reputations.

More Disney Facts:

Male cast members are not allowed to have long hair: In the early days of the park, they were also not allowed to have facial hair.
When the park opened, high standards were not only set for cast members, but visitors as well. Male visitors could not have long hair, and women could be turned away if they tried to enter wearing a tube top.
Disney cast members must remain in the vicinity of their character’s land when in costume: Cinderella will not be seen in Tomorrowland; costumed cast members, such as Mickey Mouse, cannot speak while in costume.
