For people who choose to limit their consumption of meat and dairy products, soybeans are a valuable means of obtaining these essential acids through the diet.

Many recipes for ethnic dishes contain ingredients that will provide an ample supply of essential amino acids. Three bean salads are rich in amino acids. A Mexican meal of tacos, refried beans with cheese, and rice provides ample amounts of these acids. The Cajun favorite of red beans and rice is also a delicious and easy way to get some of the essential amino acids you need as part of a balanced diet.

When dietary restrictions make it necessary to avoid certain foods rich in essential amino acids, dietary supplements are an excellent alternative. Supplements of this type can be easily purchased at most health food stores.
